Key Workers Study
The Final Report is also available from the downloads section of this website. EKOS consulting have undertaken this study which represents Stage 1 of a project to scope out the issues affecting key workers in Devon. This stage has focused on employer and provider perspectives. The study has involved a review of existing research andsecondary data and two sets of telephone interviews with key worker employers and with housing providers/stakeholders.
A seminar looking at how we can take forward the recommendations of the Report is being planned for early October and invitations will emailed out in early August.
Support Services for Community Land Trusts
Wessex Reinvestment Trust have been appointed to carry out a consultation exercise looking at the level of support for Community Land Trusts as an additional route to providing affordable housing and to examine the nature of the support required for CLTs to be successful in Devon as well as preferred options for providing such support. The consultation period has ended and results will be posted to this site. Project Leads Pauline Warner and Mary Ridgway
Sustainable Rural Communities
A report on the seminar held in November 2006 is avialable and has been used to help form a draft brief outlining how this work could be taken forward. Consultation has now ended on the draft brief to design a practical “toolkit” [or 2 inter-related but separate toolkits] for use at Local Authority and Community level which helps decision makers assess what is a sustainable rural community. This work is currently underway and will bring together a set of key indicators for affordable rural housing in Devon.
