The Devon Homelessness Managers Group (DHMG) are keen to share resources on training. Having well trained housing staff is crucial to providing a good service.

By working together across Local Authority boundaries in Devon we can ensure that our staff are receiving the same high level of training and are moving towards consistent services.

The DHMG are also working closely with the Devon & Cornwall Training Network to develop the following homelessness / housing advice related courses for delivery in 2008/09:

Mortgage Advice: The Prevention of Homelessness 22 & 23 May 2008

The DHMG commissioned Shelter to provide a two day training course focusing on the prevention of homelessness in mortgage arrears cases.

Homelessness Law Training Conference 01 December 2006

The DHMG commissioned Jan Luba QC and Liz Davies to provide a days conference training on the homelessness legislation. For information about how the day went click here.

Immigration Training 31 May 2006

The DHMG commissioned training on eligibility and immigration status for access to housing and homelessness services.

Homelessness Prevention Workshop 18 May 2006
