The DSHG's work on homelessness is mostly taken forward by the Devon Homelessness Coordinator through the Devon Homelessness Managers Group.

The DSHG and DHMG have produced a new Devon Homelessness Action Plan for 2008-09.  Some of the key projects are detailed in the summary below:

• Developing a Devon wide Sanctuary Scheme

• Developing a quality standards framework for housing options / homelessness prevention services

• Increasing capacity and skills

• Improving access to quality mortgage advice in order to prevent homelessness

• Raising awareness of homelessness issues both locally and nationally

• Monitoring statutory homelessness and key targets

• Representing DSHG/DHMG on partnership forums, including:

                   Devon Supporting People Homelessness Steering Group

                   Against Domestic Violence and Abuse Partnership

                   Devon Children's Trust Housing and Support Strategy Steering Group

                   Devon and Cornwall Training Network

                   DAAT Social Inclusion Theme Group
